Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing packaging, opened one of its three global innovation centers in Jiangyin, a county-level city in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 29.
The new center is expected to introduce advanced packaging technologies and more sustainable material science to the Asia Pacific, helping to drive growth and innovation across the region.
Bao Ming, mayor of Jiangyin, said at the opening ceremony that opening up is the key to Jiangyin's success and authorities will continue supporting enterprises, including Amcor, to expand investments and creating the best possible business environment.
Bao also expressed expectations that the operation of the Asia Pacific Innovation Center will initiate expansive and deepening cooperation between Jiangyin and Amcor.
"We are thrilled to bring the best of Amcor's unmatched innovation capabilities closer to our customers in Asia Pacific," said Mike Cash, president of Amcor's Flexibles business in Asia Pacific.
He noted, "Asia Pacific is a key growth market for Amcor and our new innovation center is just one of many important, customer-focused investments we are making in the region."

Amcor specializes in developing and producing packaging for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal-care, and other products. The company is focused on making packaging that is increasingly lighter weight, recyclable and reusable, and made using an increasing amount of recycled content.
